Ultrasound, which is sometimes called sonography, uses high-frequency sound to create images such as the one shown below of organs and other soft tissue in an animal’s body. It is an important tool for diagnosis and something that we frequently provide for referring veterinarians.

A few important types of ultrasound that Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals include abdominal, echocardiograms, and what we generically call quick look. We also provide a type of ultrasound called two cavity ultrasound, which is often provided as a less-costly alternative to a CT-scan.
