This procedure allows for the examination of an animal using an endoscope. Endoscopes are flexible scopes. They are used at the Center most typically for inspecting an animal through its stomach and into its upper intestine. Once the endoscope is introduced, small biopsies of the lining of the intestine can be taken for microscopic evaluation.

Endoscopy typically necessitates general anesthesia.
